Ways you can honor Virginia's memory:
Jessamine County, KY Virginia "Fay" Cole Gabbard, 80, died January 29, 2015. She is survived by her daughters Sue (Van) Smith of Lexington, Carol (Chuck) McWilliams of Nicholasville; sons Don (Ruth) Gabbard of Nicholasville, James (Valerie) Gabbard of Jessamine County; grandchildren Rebecca Doan, Regina (Michael) Martin, Bradley (Mindy) Smith, Leah McWilliams of New York City, Matthew (Kristi) Gabbard, Chase Gabbard, Morgan Rhodes, Jaime Fay Rhodes, Nicholas Montgomery Gabbard and Cody James Gabbard; great grandchildren Madison, Robert, Rainie, Sophia, Kaylee, Lucas, Eli and Presley. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Montgomery; parents James T. and Maude (Reynolds) Cole; a daughter Laurel Marie (Steve) Rhodes; a son Charles Gabbard and a sister Phyllis Hall. Fay loved to travel from coast to coast even in Mexico and Canada, but she most loved Padre Island, Texas. She loved to read, mostly mysteries and as many as two books each week. She was also a fan of bird watching, where she knew most of their names. Her memory was like a steel trap. She loved to serve others. Whether providing food, teaching some of the local ladies how to drive, or being a 4H leader. She was an avid UK fan especially football and basketball. But her greatest pride, was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although one of her favorite expressions was "This too shall pass", our memory of her never will. Fay left this world better than she found it. Funeral Information Visitation will be from 2 until 4 PM, Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Funeral services will follow at 4 PM. Burial at Camp Nelson National Cemetery will be at 9 AM., Monday, February 2, 2015.
