Virginia Rachel Keil, 81, of Peoria, Arizona passed away on July 17, 2012 at Boswell Medical Center in Sun City Arizona, surrounded by her loved ones. Virginia was born July 19, 1930 in Sterling, Colorado to John and Rachel (Wagner) Grauberger. She grew up in Atwood then Iliff, Colorado, graduating from Iliff High School. She married Solomon Keil on February 5, 1950. They lived in Iliff, Sterling, and later moved to Greeley. She was blessed with four children – one daughter and three sons. Virginia worked at North Colorado Medical Center for 21 years, retiring in 1991. Upon her husband death in 2008, she moved to Sun City, Arizona to be with her sons. Virginia was a wonderful cook. Everyone enjoyed her German dishes, deserts and wonderful pies. She was a member of the Red Hatters. Some of Virginia’s favorite pass times was reading and walking. The thing she enjoyed the most was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Virginia had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone. Virginia is survived by children, Sandra (Keil) Sorrel Horse and husband John, Solomon Dean Keil and partner Gretchen, Roger Dale Keil and wife Lesa and Mark Keil and his partner Steve; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four sisters, Joanne Kircher, Shirley Emmons (Marv), Nancy Bettger, Pat Borner (George); brothers, Johnnie Grauberger (Elaine) and David Grauberger (Patricia); and sister-in-law, Janice Grauberger. She was preceded in death by her husband Solomon Keil; her father and mother; sister, Ruth Camp; and brothers, Harley Grauberger and Richard Grauberger. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3000 35th Avenue Greeley, Colorado. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contribution can be made to "American Heart Association” or "the charity of your choice” in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
