A direct link can be found on MTHLC.com Virginia Kiser was born on July 30, 1929. She was a follower of Jesus and a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Possessing a true servant’s heart, she faithfully cared for family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch-including cake decorating and her famous “smelch” noodles. Her favorite days were spent at the lake making memories with family & friends. Virginia Kiser was the first educational secretary employed by Brooklyn-Cayce High School, in Cayce. She served Lexington District Two for 36 years, including service as executive secretary to three superintendents and district board of trustees. Upon retirement she continued work as a substitute teacher and fulltime grandma...her favorite job to date. She was the daughter of the late Harvey Francis Roof and Beulah Blackburn Roof of West Columbia. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Alvin G. Kiser Sr., devoted son and daughter-in-law, Alvin G. Kiser Jr. (Lisa); very special granddaughters, Reagan Kiser Price (Will) and Graeson Virginia Kiser, a sister Hazel Roof Bockus and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a sister, Floy “Dot” Roof Frye, and brothers, Francis Blackburn Roof, George Blanton Roof, Cleo Albert “Buddy” Roof, and James Nealy Roof. The family would like to thank Shirley, Pam, and Francis for the loving care she received during her long battle with dementia. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church.
