Petraitis, Virginia, 86, of Seminole, died November 7, 2013. She was born in Saranac Lake, NY on January 22, 1927 and lived there until attending college at what is now SUNY in Canton, NY. She received a degree to become a Dietician in 1946. Virginia left Canton to work in New Rochelle near NYC. She married Simon Petraitis in 1948. In the early 1950's they moved to Florida, eventually settling in Seminole. During her more than 50 years in Seminole she worked in various places including food service at Palms of Pasadena Hospital. She was a charter member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Seminole and served the church in many capacities over the years. She was a loving sister, mother, Nana, and great grandmother who always put the needs of her family and friends before her own. Virginia is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Dan Wise of St. Pete Beach, FL; 2 grandchildren, Amy Greene of Holiday, FL and Elijah Wise of Centerville, OH; a great grandson, Simon Greene of Holiday, FL; and 2 brothers, Syd and Don Smith of Saranac Lake, NY. Donations to the National Alzheimer's Association can be made at alz.org. Visitation will be 9:30-11:00 A.M. Monday at Reese Funeral Home in Seminole where the Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater.
