Virginia (Dolly) Ruth Haggerty Sibley passed away on December 9, 2016 at the age of 90. Dolly is predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years Nathan (Nat) Cleland Sibley, her sisters Jacqueline Schultz and Kathleen Haggerty, and her brother Robert Haggerty. Dolly will live on in the hearts of her six children, James Sibley (Joy), Michael Sibley (Janet), Robert Sibley (Anne), Patricia Heritsch (Paul), Theresa Sibley, and Monica Lofton (Scott); her eleven Grandchildren, Erin Harmes (Ross), Danielle Siegel (Jason), Paul Sibley (Abby), Lisa Anderson (Carlton), Jennifer Ludtke (Eliott), Barbara Schmeling (William), Amy Wareham, Michael Heritsch (Sarah), Andrew Sibley, Colton Lofton, and Brandon Lofton; and her fourteen Great-Grandchildren, Kaylee Ludtke, Chloe Ludtke, Benjamin Wareham, Zadie Harmes, Dylan Schmeling, Jack Siegel, Abigail Heritsch, Allie Schmeling, Julian Siegel, Charles Heritsch, Rowan Anderson, Annabelle Schmeling, Jordan Siegel, and Ewan Harmes. Dolly is lovingly remembered by John Haggerty (brother), Mary Haggerty, Janet Starke (sister), Laura Haggerty, and many nieces and nephews. Dolly was born in Quantico, Virginia in 1926 to a military family. She traveled extensively and was an accomplished swimmer and diver; scuba diving well into her 70s. She was active in Gold Star Wives, gave generously to those less fortunate, and enjoyed creating stained glass and oil paintings. A private service will be held in North Carolina, followed by interment at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
