Vito P. Diodato, 94, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at Palatine Nursing Home. Born November 10, 1919 in Gloversville, he was a son of the late Louis and Mary Trimarco Diodato. Vito proudly served his country in the Army during WWII deploying to the Pacific Theater. During his time in service Vito earned several awards and decorations for his loyal service to our country. Over the past several years people knew about Vito and Jake around town, Jake was Vito's cat and companion for the past 17 years. Survivors include his son Dave S. Diodato (Chris) of Fort Plain and his granddaughter Jada G. Diodato of Gloversville. Vito is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife Shirley Ryall Diodato; daughter Carla Beth Diodato; brother Fred and sisters Henrietta, Josephine and Jennie. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made in Vito's memory to the James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society 437 Nine Mile Tree Road Gloversville, NY 12078.
