W. Horace Parrish
May 7th, 1923 - December 26th, 2014
PARRISH, W. Horace, 91, of Tampa, entered into God's Promised Land December 26, 2014. Horace was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and attended Gateway Christian Center. He touched people’s hearts for 23 years as a nationally known tenor singer with the Rebels Quartet of Tampa. Horace was also the successful and respected owner of Parrish Carpet Cleaning Business (Tampa). He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Osie Parrish; eight siblings; and son-in-law, George Cort. Horace is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jo; children, Anita Gay Cort, W. Dale Parrish (Debbie), Denise Sanders, and their mother, Bobbie Parrish; step-daughter, Cindy Bailey (Earl); sister, Willie Mae Martin; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Gateway Christian Center. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (1.800.272.3900), in Horace's honor.
