W. Dana Roehrig
March 4th, 1920 - February 29th, 2000
Roehrig, W. Dana, 79 of St. Petersburg died Tuesday Feb. 29 2000 at St Anthony's Hospital. Born in Topeka, KS, he moved to St. Petersburg FL, in 1968. A veteran of World War II and recipient of a Bronze Star for Valor. He retired as a colonel from the USAR in 1980. In 1974 he formed Dana Roehrig & Associates, an insurance wholesale firm, which he sold to the St Paul Companies in 1982. He was a past president of the Florida Surplus Lines Offices and one of the founders of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices. Past director of S.P.J.C. development corporation and board member of the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Martha C. Roehrig, of St Petersburg, his sons J. Dana Roehrig of Capitan NM, Mark H. Roehrig of St. Petersburg FL, and J. Kurt Roehrig of Greensboro, NC.; sister, Joan Benninghofen, Phoenix, AZ; and two grandchildren, Max and Madison Roehrig, Greensboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to the American Red Cross, Tampa Bay Chapter, 818 ? 4th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
