Beloved husband and father, loyal shipmate and friend, Chief Machinist Mate Wade Sprague, US Navy (Ret.) left us on October 3, 2023. Wade was born into a career Army family on March 10, 1962, to the late Ronald and Pansy Sprague in Maryland. Wade and his brother Kurt grew up in many different parts of the world, traveling and learning about different cultures. In December of 1983, Wade joined the Navy and attended Boot Camp in Chicago, where he met the love of his life Pamella (Pam). They married October 25, 1984 and became devoted and loving parents to Jon and Jenny. Throughout his 30 years of Navy and civilian careers, he continued to travel the world and saw many ports-of-call. A man of many talents and pursuits, Wade enjoyed golfing, basketball, woodworking, hunting, and music (while he played many instruments, his favorite was the bass guitar). Throughout Pam and Wade’s time in San Diego, he became known in the neighborhood as "The Master" when it came to holiday decorating, Halloween and Christmas being among his standouts. He also loved adventure! From some very "interesting" camping trips in California and Nevada to extensive motorcycle road trips (ranging from hilarious to harrowing) he and Pam shared countless miles exploring the countryside. The stories abound! A dedicated friend, he was always there for those in need of comfort, a good laugh or just listening - a rare commodity these days. Wade is survived by; Pam of the home, son Jon and his wife Kate and grandchildren Robert and Nico, daughter Jenny and new son-in-law Josh Elder, brother Kurt and his wife Cindi, favorite "Mom-in Law" Dorothy plus the beloved Fur-babies, numerous family members and friends. Pam and all the family wish to thank the Tucson Veterans Hospital for the untiring care given during Wade's brief stay. Most touching was the playing of "Taps” showing due respect to a man who had given the large portion of his adult life in the service of his country. A celebration of Wade's life will be held February 16th, 2024 at 10 am at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Marana.
