Wallace "Wally" A. Neel
April 27th, 1923 - September 5th, 2016
Neel, Wallace A. "Wally" 93, of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully Monday, September 5, 2016 at Bon Secours Maria Manor, 4 days after the death of his wife, Phyllis whom he had married in 2007. He was born April 27, 1923 in Newberry, SC. Wally was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Pacific Theater, seeing action in the Battle of Midway. Wally and Phyllis attended Liberty Baptist Church and spent 10 years of happy marriage. He is survived by his sons, Tony, Kevin, and Ketch Neel; step-sons Worth T. (Betsy), Dean K. (Jeannie), Daniel R. (Joyce), David A. (Michael) and Samuel D. (Sandy) and step-daughter, Marie D. Mascara (Ernie). A memorial service for both Wally and Phyllis is planned for Friday, November 25th at 3 pm at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 2201 Dr. MLK Street N. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice or St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation.
