Walter Eric Behnke

Behnke, Dr. Walter Eric, 78, of Redington Shores died on Friday, September 21, 2001 at Mease Hospital Countryside. Walter was born in Fulton, New York and grew up in Tampa, Florida and served as a Naval Officer during World War II. He received his Bachelors degree from Stetson University, Deland and later earned a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh and was a senior research scientist for Parke Davis & Co. before retiring in 1986. Survivors include his wife, Neva; a son, Kurt of New York City; a brother, Carl, Odessa and a sister Gertrude Noden of Tampa; a stepson, Lary Jackson, Grand Haven, MI; two stepdaughters, Lori DePape, Richmond, MI and Lisa Siecinski, St. Clair Shores, MI; and eight step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews.
