Walter Wesley Dodd, 73, native and lifelong resident of Salinas, passed away on October 23, 2011 in Missouri. He was born on February 1, 1938. He was a supervisor at the U.S. Post Office for over 35 years. He was a longtime member of the Northside Assembley of God Church in Salinas, and had served as Deacon for many years. He was very fond of Bluegrass music and as a hobby, he enjoyed playing it on his instruments. He is survived by his loving wife, Maritta Dodd of Salinas sons William (Sara) Dodd of Seymour, Missouri Stephen Dodd and his companion, Denise both of Salinas Matthew (Catherine) Dodd of Portland, Oregon daughter Sheila (James) Francis of South Lake Tahoe seven grandchildren sister Beverly Spence of Phoenix, Arizona along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 1-9pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N. Sanborn Rd. Salinas, CA 93905. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2011 1pm at the Northside Assembly of God Church 55 Natividad Rd. Salinas, CA 93906. Burial to follow at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery 18200 Damian Way Salinas, CA 93907.
