Gates, Walter, 77, of Seminole, Florida, died Sunday February 11, 2001 at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute. Born in Dallas, Texas, he came here in 1997 from Chicago, Illinois. He was a stationary engineer in Chicago for 20 years at the Metropolitan Water Reclaimation District of Chicago. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and an avid conversationalist and writer. He was Catholic. Survivors include a son, Edward Gates of Seminole, Florida and a companion, Robert Pelch of Seminole, Florida.
