Walter "Walt" Reynolds Gregory

Walter (Walt) Reynolds Gregory: Born February 18, 1949-Died December 30, 2023 Born in Alma, Michigan, he was raised in St Johns, Michigan and raised his family in the Lansing, Michigan area. He moved in 2002-current to St Petersburg, Florida with his wife, Sandy. Walt is survived by his wife, Sandy (Hulbert) Gregory, daughters Stacy (Rob) Holmes and Shannon Gregory, grandchildren; Anestasia, Paryse, and Cipriano Holmes, brothers Steven (Karen) Gregory, Scott (Maria) Gregory, James Gregory, Nancy (Rob) McCormick, and Brad Nicholson as well as many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Leah (Fisher) Casler, Elton (Ken) Casler, and Walter Myron Gregory as well as in-laws, Don and Doris (Hulbert) Peavey. Before moving to Florida, Walt worked in Lansing, MI at Shaffer Bakeries, and many years as Building Supervisor at Mount Hope Church. He retired from Security at HSN in 2020. Walt served in the Navy in communications on the SS Shangri-La carrier ship during the Vietnam war. Walt was a friend to everyone and a stranger to none. He lived on action movies and terrible dad jokes that he alone thought were hilarious. He thought he was funny and his family humored him by sometimes letting him think we thought so too. He has a laugh you couldn’t help but laugh with, even while shaking your head at why he was laughing that hard. Walt was tenderhearted and would laugh-cry whenever something touched his heart. He loved to worship God. Kids and animals thought he was awesome. He loved people, but most of all loved his family. Fun fact: he shared his birthday with his wife who was 6 years younger. You were my encourager, and always cheered me on, supporting me in every crazy endeavor. You challenged me to be the best at everything I did. You believed in me. You were proud of me. 48 years was not long enough to kiss your lips, whisper ‘I love you’, watch your blue eyes darken with passion and feel your embrace. You’re the only one to tell me I was a hottie! The only one I shared my insecurities with, and told my deepest secrets. I’ll still finish the song, it’s only that the last verse will be different.
