Warner Robins, GA- Walter Henry Johnson, Jr., passed away on September 7, 2012 after an extended illness. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Reverend Reginald Kiper will officiate. Mr. Johnson was born to the late Walter H. and Bessie Johnson, November 21, 1926, in Amite, LA. Mr. Johnson retired from the U.S. Navy in 1966, after serving in WWII, Korean, and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the Navy, Mr. Johnson held positions with National Steel Ship Builders, the Borrego School for Boys, and finally at Vijas Casino in his favorite position as casino poker player. In 2004, after 42 years in San Diego, Mr. Johnson and his wife relocated to Warner Robins, GA where he spent his remaining years of life. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Almetta Johnson of Warner Robins, GA; children, Conna Hardy of Bonaire, Keith Johnson of Warner Robins, Walter H. Jonson III of San Diego, CA; sister, Carlene Ebie Ebie; brothers, James Johnson Francine, Granderson Johnson Naomi; grandchildren, Nicole Johnson, Evan Hardy, Alan Hardy, Walter H. Johnson IV, Quana Edwars, Brandon Johnson; great-grandchildren, Kiara Johnson, Walter H. Johnson V, Darius Johnson, Ebonique Johnson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
