Walter was born on December 7, 1942 in Seoul, South Korea, after graduating from the Han Yang College, He immigrated to Hawaii, lived there for several years, and this is where he met his beautiful wife Naomi,. They moved to Guam and then to La Jolla, CA in 1978. They made Santa Barbara their home in 1980, where he owned and operated Milpas Liquor and Deli until he retired at the young age of 47. He decided to purchase an RV and drive from Santa Barbara to Alaska and spend the summers fishing for salmon, halibut and digging for razor clams. He was always ready with a smile and a handshake. He had a generous nature and he loved children. He was probably the best grandparent on the planet. He was an amazing father. He is survived by his wife Naomi Kim, his daughter Susan Kim his granddaughters Sasha and Natasha Gordon, his sister-in-law Karen Hoh and future son-in-law Jonathan Kenney and many, many nieces and nephews.
