June 6th, 1919 - June 19th, 2012
Mr. Walter Willis Parrish Jr., 93, formerly of Greensboro, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Friday, June 22nd at Lakeview Memorial Park with the Reverend Carol Williams-Gilbert officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the cemetery family room. Mr. Parrish was born in Guilford County, June 6, 1919, to Walter and Mary James Parrish. He served during WWII and the Korean War in the US Army and the US Navy. He retired from Sears Mail Order after over 36 years of service. He was a member of Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Parrish is survived by his wife of 69 years, Henrietta Raynor Parrish; daughter, Janet Caskey and husband Lynn; son, Mark Parrish and wife Marty; 5 grandchildren, Brandon, Leah, Dustin, Darden, and Andy. Memorials may be made to Lee's Chapel United Methodist Church, 2303 Lee's Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27405 or Levin & Dickson Hospice House, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078.
