Walter Burt Roetter

Walter Burt Roetter, 91, of Lexington, SC passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon February 28, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 22, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Walter Joseph and Annette Johnson Roetter. Walter received his Master?s degree from Northwestern University in Business Administration. He served as Vice-President of Jeff Hunt Machinery in Columbia for over 20 years until his retirement. Walter also proudly served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Knight receiving numerous decorations. He is predeceased by his loving wife Joan Roetter who passed away March 23, 1994. Survivors include his son Walter Chet Roetter; daughter Lori Ann Schumpert; three grandchildren Savannah, Lacy, Mia and very close family friends Eric Siar and Jennifer Darden. Walter is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside service with military honors will take place on Saturday afternoon March 3, 2012 at 2:30 P.M. at Greenlawn Memorial Park 845 Leesburg Road Columbia. The family would like to extend an invitation for all family and friends to join them at 416 Libby Lane Lexington, SC 29072 following the service for food and fellowship.
