Walter Teagarden
January 12th, 1929 - June 13th, 2018
A resident of Browns Valley, California, and formerly of Buell, Idaho, passed away peacefully June 13th, 2018 at his home at the age of 89 years, after a long illness. Walter was born in Boone, Iowa, on January 12, 1929, to Walter Milo Teagarden and the former Thelma Walters Teagarden. Walter married Ruby Dell Teagarden on August 22, 1948, and was married for more than 50 years until Ruby's death on April 10th, 2005. Walter was employed in his lifetime as a child ''cowboy'' wrangler in Idaho, a sailor in the Merchant Marines during World War II, a Fire Tower Lookout for the US Forest Service, a Marine in the United States Marine Corp, a Truck Driver, a Barber, a Mechanic at John C. Bayes Ford in Marysville, a General Building Contractor, and finally as a mail delivery worker for the Yuba County Superintendent of Schools. Bud, as he liked to be called, had a lifelong love of the rancher's life. He had an interest in livestock of all types especially cattle and horses. He owned many horses, including in the 1960's, an Appaloosa race horse named "Heart Aches Frosty." Walter and Ruby raised 4 children: Richard Dale Teagarden of Browns Valley, California, (married to Eva Teagarden), Sharon Kay Frank of Gardnerville, Nevada, (married to Rick Frank Sr.), Jack Milo Teagarden of Yuba City, California, (married to Debra Teagarden) and Patrick Alan Teagarden of Eagle River, Alaska, (married to Cathy Teagarden). Walter and Ruby had 10 grandchildren (Heather Baker, Michelle Vincent, Jennifer Payne, Rick Frank Jr., Lindsey Garewal, Joshua Teagarden, Aaron Moe, Samantha McClaskey, Racheal Jones and Kevin Teagarden) and 18 great grandchildren. There will be a private family service in the near future. Walter's family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Yuba County Sherriff's Posse Search and Rescue.
