Warner Robins, GA – Walter Allen Woods Sr, 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 20, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday August 24, 2018 in the chapel at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. Todd Shearin will officiate. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens, Warner Robins, GA. Walter Allen Woods, Sr. was born on April 22, 1940 in Darbyville, OH to the late LeRoy Woods and Alice Eldridge. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Louise Carter-Woods and his stepfather who raised him, Forbes Rhorer. He retired after many years of being employed by Apple Enclosures in Warner Robins as a Construction Supervisor. Walter loved his family and loved being with his children and grandchildren. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be greatly missed. His loving memory will forever be cherished by his 6 children, Wanda Coppedge (Howard), Vienna, GA, Monica Foster (Leigh), Great Britain, Becky Woods (Wade), Gordon, AL, Brenda Lobaugh (Brian), Zanesville, OH, Walter A. Woods Jr (Junalyn Calicoy) Vienna, GA, Jon Woods (Marshelle) Lake Park, FL; 4 siblings, Patricia Davis, Betty McNeal, Larry Woods and Wanda Harris; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren, along with countless friends and extended family members.
