Lexington - Wanda Jean Prater, 85, former wife of the late Bill Joe Prater, Sr., passed away on January 22, 2022 in Berea. Wanda was born in Berea, Kentucky on August 11, 1936 to the late Preston and Pearl Martin Anderkin. She was a graduate of EKU and was a retired Registered Nurse with St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. Wanda was a member of Old Paris Road Church of God for many years and a proud Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include her sons, John (Cheryl) Prater, of Nicholasville, David Prater, of Lexington; granddaughters, Chasity (Chris) Burke, Tasha (Bill Stanczak) Prater, Jessica (Eric) Cox, Trista (Billy) Willoughby, Kristen Dawn Estes, and Sarah Jean Prater; great-grandchildren, Jacob Wood, Gunnar Rhodus, Kennedy Cox, Colton Cox, Harper Stanczak, Kannon Willoughby, Kinley Willoughby, Kingston Willoughby, Geordyn Edwards, Karmine King, Ghiadda King, Kadence King, and Giavana Prater; and great-great grandson, Nikolai Preston Wood. She is also survived by her sisters, Francis Cusazk, Richmond, Kentucky, Peggy (Bobby) Mason, Crab Orchard, Kentucky and one brother Frank (Arlene) Anderkin, Conway, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her four sisters, Gladys Gill, Dorothy Osolvesky, Loretta Livingston, Patty Roy and her son, Billy Joe Prater, Jr. A Gathering will be held for Wanda Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1pm till 3pm, with a celebration of life service starting at 2pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Burial will be at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. www.clarklegacycenter.com
