Warren "W.C." Crane Place
April 13th, 1926 - September 12th, 2020
Warren C. Place, 94 of Sea Pines Resort, Hilton Head Island, died Saturday, September 12, 2020. “W.C” was born April 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. and served in the Pacific Theater in WWII. After the war, he returned home and attended the University of Wisconsin. He was employed by Display Corporation International where he spent most of his career. He retired in December 1988 from the position of Chief Financial Officer and moved to South Carolina in 1989. W.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie Place. He is survived by his three children: sons, Michael Place and Jeffrey Place, both of Florida and a daughter, Patty Wells of Tennessee. He was blessed to have five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family will have a private memorial service. Donations may be made to Crescent Hospice (formerly Tidewater Hospice), 10 Buckingham Plantation Dr. Bluffton, SC 29910.
