Warren T. Shaw

SHAW, Warren T., 65, of Land O’ Lakes, Florida passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011. He was born in Far Rockaway, New York, raised in Valley Stream, New York and moved to Florida in 2004. Warren worked for nearly 40 years in gas and electric utilities and retired as a foreman with LILCO, New York and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 38. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Valley Stream, New York. He enjoyed spending time with family, taking them bowling, fishing, camping and playing golf. After his own children were grown, he continued to enrich children’s lives by being a foster parent to dozens of children in need. He is preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Karen and his second wife, Christine. He is survived by his three sons, Warren, Jr. and his wife, Patti of Clifton Park, New York, James and his wife, Erin of Melbourne, Florida and Christopher of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; two daughters, Debra Gonzalez and her husband, David of Tampa and Dannielle Shaw of Land O’ Lakes; two brothers, George and his wife, Doris of Rockledge, Florida and Gary and his wife, Liz of Valley Stream, New York; four grandchildren, Warren T. Shaw III, Harrison Shaw, Megan Shaw, Nevaeh Shaw and his newest grandson, Matthew Shaw, he was expecting to meet in April. A celebration of his life will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Loyless Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center.
