Life's Journey Wayman Banks Wayman Banks was born on July 15, 1951, in Atchison, Kansas. He was the fifth child of eleven born to his parents Hobert Banks and Cleo Jenkins. His Father, Mother, siblings; Bertha, Eula, Wendell, Martha, Linda, Dennis and Brenda preceded him in death. Wayman received his High School Diploma from Atchison High School in Atchison, Kansas, and his Bachlor's Degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He also took several law classes towards a Law Degree. Wayman accepted the Lord at an early age as a member of Zion Baptist Church in Atchison, Kansas. He was raised along with his siblings in a loving Christian home.. After his graduation from Washburn University he moved to Denver, Colorado. He excelled at his profession as a Counselor with PERA for the State of Denver until his retirement. Wayman took pride in mentoring the youth. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, walking, traveling and Crossword Puzzles. He loved spending time with his family. He travelled miles to see his Sisters to spend time with them and their families. Wayman was kind, good hearted and always willing to give a helping hand. He loved to laugh and enjoy life. To all that knew him, his quiet demeanor was a blessing and an asset for calmness and in making friends. Wayman Banks departed this life on July 31, 2022 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters: Georgia Robinson, Temple Hills, MD; Denise (Dennis) Ross, Hobbs, NM; Gloria Barber, Topeka, Kansas, and a host of relatives and friends.
