June 1st, 1924 - October 25th, 2010
Waymon E. Herndon, 86, retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, died Monday, Ocotber 25, 2010 at The Place Assisted Living Center on Merritt Island. “Wayne” was born in Lamesa, Texas and moved to Cocoa Beach over 45 years ago. He was a World War II veteran and retired from both the Air Force and Space Industry. He also enjoyed spending time as a volunteer at Patrick Air Force Base. He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Herndon of Lutz, Florida and son, Scott Herndon of Cocoa Beach. A reception will be held on Thursday from 2 – 4 PM at his home in Cocoa Beach. A military burial will be Friday at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. Beckman-Williamson Funeral home in Cocoa Beach is in charge of the arrangements.
