Wayne Christopher "Chris" Neeley

Wayne Christopher “Chris” Neeley, 63, of Cayce, passed away on August 18, 2021 at his residence. He was born September 18, 1957 in Columbia, SC, and was the son of the late Vince Ruben Neeley, Jr. and Leila Mae Bradwell Christy. Chris was a handy person and generously used his abilities to lend a helping hand to others. As a young man, he enjoyed playing chess and pool and he especially loved fishing. Chris will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather and brother. He truly loved his family and spending time with them. Chris is survived by a son, James Neeley of Hopkins; two sisters, Bobbie Jean Tipton of Camden, SC and Lydia Diane Holly of Fort Mill, SC; six grandchildren, Kayla Hernandez, Sophia Guerrero, Alexis Hubbard, Dakota Neeley, Raylin Neeley, and Levi Neeley; two great grandchildren, Karter Hernandez and Khamiya Irvin; and three very close cousins, Donna Vaughn, Vince Stack and Teresa Cribb. He also leaves behind a special friend, Libby Jones Knight, and a number of devoted friends, nieces, nephews and other extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Neeley and a sister, Brenda Fuller. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church in Hopkins with the Rev. Ken Addison officiating. Burial will follow at 12:00pm in the Brown’s Chapel Cemetery. The family suggest that those desiring to make memorials, please do so to Oliver Gospel in Columbia, SC.
