Wendell Bray
March 30th, 1958 - July 28th, 2024
Wendell McClure Bray died on July 28, 2024 in Inova Fairfax Hospital as a result of a tragic fall. Born in Alexandria, VA, he lived his whole life in Northern Virginia, spending the last 35 years in Annandale. He was a graduate of McLean High School, attended Northern Virginia Community College, and received a Bachelor of Arts in History from George Mason University. He was especially interested in Ancient History, the US Civil War, and World War II.
Wendell enjoyed his extensive collection of Rock and Roll music from the 1960's and 1970's such as the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and the Zombies among many others. He was also a fan of TV shows of that era like The Honeymooners, Bonanza, and Lost In Space and all types of science fiction especially My Favorite Martian, Star Trek, Star Wars, and the X-Files. He was devoted to his family and a lover of all dogs particularly Dalmatians.
He was pre-decreased by his father, Haywood Bray, Jr., his mother, Mary Katherine Bray Palmer, and his step- father, Jack Palmer. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Teresa Kerins, and his brother, Howard Bray of Williamsburg, VA.
In addition he leaves sister-in-law Mary Ann Miller and husband Frederic, brother-in-law John Kerins and wife Carol, nieces and nephews, Maureen Miller, Kathleen Miller, Andrew Miller and wife Adrienne Murphy, Colleen Kerins, John E. Kerins and wife Morgan, and grandniece Susanna Jane Miller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Falls Church followed by internment at Fairfax Memorial Park.
