Wendy L. Szabo- Jordan
April 3rd, 1972 - January 16th, 2021
Mrs. Wendy L. Szabo- Jordan, 48, of Amsterdam died suddenly on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Born on April 3, 1972 she was the daughter of Christopher Szabo and the late Norma Jean Young Szabo. A fierce woman, Wendy always spoke her mind and lived life to the fullest. She was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Canajoharie High School. She was employed as a counselor for Mohawk Opportunities in Schenectady, NY and truly enjoyed her job. Wendy’s true passion was being a skilled make-up artist and coach on the world’s pageant stages. She coached countless young individuals throughout her lifetime and shared her passion with her family and friends. Wendy was always willing to lend a helping hand, give a word of advice or simply be there to help others. A true matriarch to the Jordan family, she loved her family deeply and valiantly. Her greatest joy was being a nana and helping to raise her grandchildren. Wendy was always up for a good time and enjoyed the occasional trip to Disney. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband and best friend, David A. Jordan, whom she married on June 29, 1991; her daughter, Georgie Smith and her husband Paul; her beloved grandchildren, Shiloh and Easton Smith; her father, Christopher Szabo and his wife Mary; two aunts, Donna Santangelo and her husband Phil and Stacia Farrell; four uncles, Joel Szabo, Daniel Szabo, Eric Szabo and Gary Moltrip; nieces, nephews and extended members of the Jordan and Szabo families; and the pageant community. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 1p.m. at Crossroads Community Church, 24 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Masks and social distancing protocols will be in place. This event will be live streamed on the BRBS Facebook page. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Montgomery County Office for Aging, 135 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
