Werner Jaeger

JAEGER, Werner Dr., 92, of Lutz, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017. Werner was born in Wanne-Eickel, Germany. He and his parents immigrated through Ellis Island and settled in Buffalo, NY. He was educated at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Illinois College of Optometry. He moved to Tampa in 1950. Werner was an Optometrist and he practiced in Temple Terrace and Inverness for 54 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He has served as past president of North Hillsborough Rotary Club, Gulf Ridge Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Coast Guard Auxillary. Werner was preceded in death by his wife, Judy and his parents, Erna and Heinz. He is survived by five children: Michael Jaeger and wife Karen, Philip Jaeger and wife Elizabeth, Gregory Jaeger, Frederick Locke and wife Deborah and Kimberly Setser and husband Ronnie; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Jaeger and wife, Dorothy.
