Westly Allen Cox
October 11th, 1991 - September 7th, 2015
Obituary Westly Allen Cox, 23, passed September 7, 2015. He was born October 11, 1991 to Karen Talbott & Michael Cox. Wes attended Honwanji Mission School & Le Jardin Academy for his elementary years, then graduated from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs and then went on to the Colorado State University in Pueblo, CO. He loved sports and during these years played Volleyball, Basketball, Football, Wrestling and Weightlifting; excelling in all! Wes was also a very spiritual person, having participated in the Honolulu Friends Meeting and was a Child of the Meeting; and while there participated in Winners Camp Hawaii, a Teen leadership academy-program which developed personal and academic life skills. He was also a Leader of the Heifer Project, a non-profit organization providing animals/livestock and bees to third world countries. In 2010 Wes Enlisted in the US Army. While service he was one of 13 Delta Field Artillery Specialist and a Parachutist while stationed at Ft Bragg. He was also a Combat Veteran while serving with the 82nd Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, Alpha Battery 2-319th, Black Falcons. In 2013, upon returning home, he worked in sales with Phil Long Kia. Wes is survived by his parents, Michael Cox, Karen Talbott & step-father, Albert Bush; grandmother, Alice Talbott; sister, Jade Cox; brother, AJ Bush; uncle, Kevin Gatewood; aunts, Donna Gatewood, Anita Bush-Lewis and Andrea Chatman; cousins, Sasha, Jade, Trinity, Alexis, Carlos, Christian, Corey and Cidney. He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Ted Talbott and Bill Cox. Wes always cared about helping those less fortunate and often put others before himself. Enlisting to serve his country in time of war was in keeping with his giving nature and desire to protect and help others. Wes touched the lives of many; memories of him will continue to live on.
