Davis, Wilbur Gene August 29, 1938 ~ January 10, 2013 Wilbur (Bill) Davis of Thornton, Colorado died on January 10, 2013 at the age of 74 years old. He went to sleep peacefully surrounded by his loving family after fighting a valiant battle against lung cancer. Bill was born on August 29, 1938 in Bovina, Colorado. He grew up in Arriba, Colorado and graduated high school from Arriba High in 1956. Upon graduation Bill then joined the Navy and spent 4 years as a Radio man, last on the Lexington. He was honorably discharged in 1960. Bill moved to and stayed within the metro Denver area where met his wife Pat in February 1966. They were married in September of 1966. Bill was a proud Teamster and retired from Seattle Fish in 2000. Bill loved to spend time at the Federal Heights Eagles Aerie #4019. There he gave a lot of his time to numerous charitable causes. Bill won the Aerie Eagle of the year in 2002 for his service to the club. He in 2002 won the Eagle of the year for the State of Colorado. He was humbled and proud of the honor. Bill is survived by his wife Pat, their children Michael, William (Bill), Shannon and numerous grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Rod Davis, Ronnie Davis, Daryl Davis, Glen Davis, his sisters Lila Lee Wood, Myrna Summers and Bonnie Rowe. He has numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who all miss him greatly. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Northeast Eagles Club (8800 Federal Blvd. Federal Height, CO 80260) on Sunday, Jan 20 from 11 am to 4 pm. Also he will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in honor of the time he gave keeping our country safe in the Navy.
