Wilbur "Wimpy" Francis Stearns On the evening of January 2, 2016, Wilbur passed away peacefully of natural causes in the comfort of his home in Edgewood, NM. Wilbur was 81 years old. Wilbur Stearns was born in East Worcester, NY on December 5, 1934. He was the first son of Edith (Neilander) and Frank B. Stearns. Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; spouses, Barbara (Scott) Stearns and Phyllis (Eskew) Stearns. Wilbur is survived by his step-mother, Esther Stearns; brother, Alan Stearns; sons, Charles, James and Ian Stearns; daughters, Susan Liebold and Kara Tollefson; step-sons, Michael and James Eskew; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Wilbur was a very kind and generous soul, playing his ukulele and sharing laughter with his family and friends. Throughout his life he accepted adversity and loss with the gift of humor and optimism. He literally walked on the sunny side of life and will be missed by so many. A celebration of Wilbur's life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the home of Diana Herrera, 11 Bobcat Hill Road, Sandia Park, NM.
