Wilbur Anthony Postell
November 1st, 1942 - June 7th, 2016
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer. Everything we do, we do with passion. Passion creates a pathway to your purpose. Wilbur Anthony Postell lived a purposeful and passionate life. Born on November 1, 1942 in Pahokee, Florida to the late Fred Melvin and the late Dorothy Camille (Upthegrove) Postell. Wilbur attended Clewiston Schools and left to join the U.S Navy at age 17. He returned to Clewiston and worked for South Florida Water Management, his Daddies Meat Market and later the A&P Food Store. In 1969, he met and married Ann Langdale from Moore Haven. After working for the U.S. Sugar Corporation, he opened Wilbur's Meat Market at his home. Later, he moved the business to West Ventura which became famously known as Postell's Country Meats. He retired in 2008. Since 1980, his body became sick. Numerous surgeries, countless doctor appointments, in and out of nursing homes and hospitals. But his spirit was full of life. Always intoxicating a room with jokes, unforgettable stories, and the love for his critters at his farm. Sometimes you feel buried in life, but you are not. You are planted. If you have a pulse you can walk in passion, you can walk out what God has planned for you. Trust his timing, Wilbur did. 73 years young, on June 7, 2016 surrounded by family in his home Wilbur Anthony Postell became healed. The way you get joyful is by having the right perspective. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. When you get thankful, you get joyful and as we get joyful, we get stronger. His energy surrounds the family he and Ann created together. Two sons: Wilbur Anthony "Andy" (Jennifer) and Mark Anthony (Amanda), One daughter: Crystal LeeAnn, Sister: Anna Clinard, Grandsons: Trent, Greyson, Preston and Drew. Wilbur's parents and three brothers: Melvin Luther, Joseph Michael and Dennis Edward greeted him at the pearly gates that beautiful summer evening. His life was celebrated by family and friends on Friday June 10, 2016 at The Evangel Assembly of God in Clewiston, Florida. To know Wilbur is to truly love him. His personality is infectious. The town of Clewiston did not come to Postell's Country Meats just for the meat selection. They came for his humor, for his charisma, and to greet America's Sweetest Town's Meat Extraordinaire. You do not meet people like Wilbur Postell and forget them. Thank you for loving him as much as we do. The Postell Family
