Wilbur Floyd Valdez

Obituary On October 14, 2022 Wilbur Floyd Valdez, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away peacefully at age 89. He is survived by his children Randy, Dennis and Nadine (Todd), grandchildren Justin (Jody), Brittany and Tyler and great grandchildren Aspen, Caleb, Willow, Olivia and Audrey. He is preceded in death by his wife Priscilla and daughter Karen. Floyd was born on June 23, 1933 in Ojo Feliz, New Mexico to parents Benigno and Victoria Valdez. He was the youngest of eight children, brothers Bernardino (deceased) Manuel, Lidoro, Emilio and sisters Violeta (deceased) Delfina (deceased) and Andrea (deceased). Floyd moved to Pueblo, Colorado in 1949 and worked at the Army Depot before being drafted into the Army. He served in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. Floyd married his wife Priscilla on October 11, 1958 after meeting her at her local congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. Through the years Floyd studied the Bible and was baptized on February 5, 1962. They welcomed a daughter Karen and two sons, Randy and Dennis before moving to Manitou Springs in 1966; four years later they welcomed another daughter, Nadine. He retired from the gas department after working over 30 years for the Colorado Springs Utilities company. He served as an elder in the Foothills Congregation for over 40 years. He enjoyed teaching others about Jehovah God and spent countless hours through the years sharing with them Gods promise at Revelation 21:3,4 He enjoyed lake fishing, watching baseball as well as visiting others and sharing an encouraging word with them. He especially loved and cherished family dinners and visits from family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
