Wilfred E. Brunelle
October 18th, 1942 - September 27th, 2024
Wilfred E. Brunelle (Willie) passed away on September 27, 2024 at Holyoke Medical Center. Willie was born on October 18, 1942 the son of Wilfred O. and Anita (Desroches) Brunelle. Willie is the husband of the late Donna (Gagnon) Brunelle. He is survived by his children Joseph Brunelle of Boston and Michelle Brunelle of Springfield, brother Ronald Brunelle, and sister Linda Duffy.
Raised in Chicopee, he and Donna moved to South Hadley in 1970 where they would raise their children. After a working at New England Container, later Weyerhaeuser, in Chicopee he became a long-time custodian for the South Hadley School System before retiring in 2005. Willie was known for his woodworking skills building cabinets, decorations, and other crafts. He loved the companionship of his rescue dogs over the years.
He will be missed by friends and family.
Visitation will be held on October 3, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Beers and Story Funeral Home in South Hadley. A Funeral Mass will be held on October 4, 2024 9:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Church in South Hadley. A burial after at St. Rose de Lima Cemetery in Chicopee.
