Will Smiley West

Mr. Will Smiley West, age 85 a resident of Auburndale, Florida passed away Monday, January 3, 2022 at his home surrounded by family. Mr. West was born May 1, 1936 in Colquitt, Georgia to Lenton and Laurine (Dean) West. He was an Auburndale resident since 1951 coming from Georgia and a retired Foreman for Pavers & MacAsphalt Paving Companies. Smiley was a member of the NRA, he enjoyed his dogs, gardening, bird hunting and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers – Lamar West, Benton David “Buddy” West, Wayne Bush & Gregory Paul West; 3 sisters – Emma Chesnut, Ruth Palmer & Dorothy Bedsole. Smiley is survived by his loving wife of 62 years – Shirley West of Auburndale, Florida; son – Will Jamie West and wife Louise of Auburndale, Florida; brother – Dennis West of Auburndale, Florida; 3 sisters – Osa Newberry of Auburndale, Florida, Johnnie Sue Easley of Auburndale, Florida and Zelda West of Auburndale, Florida; 3 granddaughters – Lacey Whatley of Auburndale, Florida, Hope Weant and husband Aaron of Cary, North Carolina and Kaylee Minaya and husband David of Trinity, Florida; 7 Great grandchildren – Elizabeth, Katherine, Lily, Hattie, Gavin, Griffin and Gabriella. His family will memorialize his life according to his wishes.
