William R. Bill'' Chase
November 18th, 1923 - December 19th, 2001
Chase, William R. ?Bill?, 78, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday December 19, 2001 under the care of Hospice. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he came here in 1960 from Detroit. During WWII, he served as an Air Force pilot trainer for B-17 and B-21?s. He was a stockbroker for Prudential Securities for 25 years. He was a 40 year member of the St. Petersburg Country Club formerly Lakewood Country Club, a 30 year member of St. Petersburg Yacht Club, a member of the Sertoma Club, St. Petersburg Quarterback Club, and the Phi Delta Theta Alumni at Northwestern University. He always enjoyed competing, whether in golf, tennis or in the brokerage business. He traveled the world and his only regret was not seeing the countries of the Far East. He was a Protestant and is remembered for his love of people and being active in the community. Survivors include 3 daughters, Debi Chase of Willows, California, Sue Shuster of Atlanta, Georgia and Patty Conolly of St. Petersburg, and 3 grandchildren.
