William "Bill" Charles Hair

William “Bill” Charles Hair, 83, died Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Lexington Medical Center. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Alleine Austin Hair; his children, Katherine Goff (Robert), Charles Hair (Marina), and Andrew Hair (Teshia); his six beloved grandchildren: Lindsey Dennis, Timothy Sanders, Grace Anna Hair (Reed), Savannah Szupka (Tony), Cole Hair and Lily Hair; his two siblings: Jane Cole and Don Hair (Linda); and many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Augusta, GA, he was the son of Charles Henry Hair and Agnes Tankersley Hair. He retired in Lake Toxaway, NC, and was also a former resident of Columbia and Summerville, SC. Mr. Hair graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, SC. In 1957, he attended Clemson University. He was a car salesman for Love Chevrolet for over 20 years, then worked for Pella Window and Door Company until his retirement. He was an active member of the Brevard Lions Club and a member of the St. Philips Episcopal Church in Brevard, NC. He was a longtime IPTAY member and avid golfer. Bill enjoyed spending time with his loving family in his mountain home in Lake Toxaway, NC. The family will receive friends at 3:00pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Thompson Funeral Home, of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC, with a funeral to follow at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name of "William Hair" to Pisgah Forest Lions Club or St. Philips Episcopal Church in Brevard, NC.
