William S. Boshart

William S. Boshart, 60, of Johnstown went home to the Lord peacefully on Friday August 21, 2020. He was born on December 13, 1959 in Amsterdam, NY; and is the son of the late John G. and Marjorie E. (Cook) Boshart. Bill is survived by his brothers John G. (Lynn) Boshart Jr; of Louisville, KY, Philip H. Boshart of Canajoharie, James R. Boshart of Fonda, Henry C. Boshart of Fonda, and Robert A. Boshart of Fonda. His sisters Jean E. (Bob) McGrath of Florida, Peggy B. (Larry) Peck of Florida, and Susan A. Boshart of Fonda. Bill is also survived by aunts and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents Bill is predeceased by a brother Richard J. Boshart, and a sister Ann S. Boshart. Bill was raised on the family farm in Fonda, N.Y. and attended the Fonda-Fultonville Central School. Bill was a popular student who excelled in academics and sports. Although he was always friendly and modest, he enjoyed challenging his siblings in a variety of competitions. Bill would invariably win and always responded with a smile and twinkle in his eye. He sure enjoyed spending time with family and friends! Bill suffered a life changing spinal cord injury during his senior year of high school, a setback he endured with courage and grace for the rest of his life. The family is grateful to Lexington Center for their years of loving care. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon at the funeral home with Rev. Laurie Garramone, Pastor of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Johnstown, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot of the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda NY.
