William Charles Bowman, age 71, of Gloversville, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

He was born July 27, 1952, in Gloversville, the son of Donald and Catherine (Unger) Bowman. He was graduate a of Gloversville High School and was employed by Robison and Smith for most of his lifetime. With his lifelong friend, Larry Hollenbeck, he assisted with the construction of Hales Mills Course.

Bill is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl M. (Wicksell) Bowman; a daughter, Amanda Bowman (Anthony Oathout); two siblings, Frank Bowman (Paula) and Barbara Flynn (Doug); two grandchildren, Tanner Baker and Avery Iorio; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department, 28 N. School Street Mayfield, NY 12117.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, Gloversville.
