William J. Carpin
April 15th, 1982 - February 2nd, 2024
W.Springfield - William John "B.J." Carpin, 41, passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2024. He was born in Springfield on April 15, 1982, son of the late Richard M. and Norma Jeanne (Gagne) Carpin of Chicopee, formerly of Belchertown. Will grew up in Springfield before moving to Belchertown where he graduated in 2000. He then went on to receive his BA from MCLA in North Adams. For the past 15 years Will was employed at Dominion Enterprises as a senior software engineer. In his youth, Will was active in the Boy Scouts and spent many summers camping. He was an avid 49ers fan, enjoyed fishing with his friend Dean, tinkering with computers, cracking jokes, playing fantasy sports, and watching wrestling with his friend Jason. His memory will forever remain with his mother Norma Jeanne Carpin and his sisters, Correen Carpin-Gendron and her husband Brian and Lisa Carpin as well as his nieces, Mya and Lilly and nephew, Brady. In addition, he will be missed by his many friends including his best friend Dean Swiatek and family, his good friend and brother-in-law Jason Couse, his uncle Robert Carpin and his wife Christine, their daughter Katie, his aunt Patricia Aiken and her husband David, their children Dorothy, Diane, and Laurie, his aunt Lorraine Thompson, and her son Eddie. Will's beloved cats Shuri and Panda will also dearly miss his presence and are being well cared for. A visiting time will be held Saturday, February 10 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to the Boy Scouts of America.
