William "Bill" Wayne Daugherty
October 24th, 1947 - August 29th, 2016
William Wayne Daugherty, known better as Bill, passed away suddenly, on Monday, August 29, 2016, at his home in Lakewood, Washington. Bill was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on October 24, 1947. He is survived by his loving wife, Ly. Bill is also survived by his son, Shea, his wife Dienna and their children Ethan and Isabella and son, Sonn, his wife Katie and their son, Tobias. Bill leaves behind his mother, Virginia Tucker, brother Bob and sister Cathy, all in Kentucky. Bill enlisted in the Army at a very young age and proudly served his country for over 21 years. His faithful service included three tours to Vietnam as a member of the 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile). As a member of the Company D, 101st Aviation Battalion, Bill earned commendations as UH-1H Crew chief, out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Bill and his family traveled the world during his military career. After his military retirement, Bill went to work for Boeing and spent over 20 years in Quality Control through various organizations, retiring in 2012. Bill and Ly recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Bill was enjoying his retirement, traveling and spending time with his loving family. He was adored by his three grandchildren and will be missed by all. Bill will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent , WA on Tuesday, September 6th at 3:00pm.
