In Loving Memory
William C. Dawson, 92, husband of the late Vera Scott Dawson, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024. He was born in Anderson County, on November 12, 1931, to the late Louise Nevins and John William Dawson.
He was a graduate of Kavanaugh High School with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business from the University of Kentucky and had operated Dawson’s Decorating Center for over 30 years and was a builder and realtor. Mr. Dawson was also a veteran of the United States Army and served as Infantry Platoon Leader in Trieste, Italy. He was an active member of Versailles Baptist Church as Deacon and Treasurer and past president of Woodford County Chamber of Commerce.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Donna (Terry) Whitehouse, Scott (Rhonda) Dawson, Debra (Kevin) Harris; grandchildren, Adam (Shae) Whitehouse, Andrew (Jami) Dale, Rachel (Pat) Creager, Matthew (Kandice) Whitehouse, Rebekah Dale, Mark Dawson, Benjamin Dawson; and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Versailles Baptist Church at 4pm officiated by Rev. Michael Cabell, followed by a reception at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Versailles Baptist Church, or church or charity of your choice.
