William Manning Dilley
September 4th, 1923 - December 29th, 2016
William (Bill) Manning Dilley, age 93, died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Lynnwood. He was born in Seattle, Washington on September 4, 1923 to Howard Dana and Mary Frances (McGarrigle) Dilley, the youngest of three children. Bill grew up in the Woodland Park/Green Lake area, attending St. Benedict Elementary and graduating from Seattle Prep. He graduated from the United States Maritime Academy, and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Marilyn Emily (Eneberg) Dilley in 1944. Bill and Marilyn eventually made their home in Shoreline, Washington, becoming the proud parents of Julie and Dana. He started his own business, Custom Package and Design, in the early 80s. Besides being with his family, Bill enjoyed trips to Hawaii, Tahoe, and Sun River with family and friends.Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Marilyn, daughter Julie (Mark) Pinard; grandchildren Tatum Dilley, Christopher Pinard, April (Eric) Denley, Timothy (Candice) Pinard, Jordan Ross, and Cody Dilley; great-grandchildren Milo and John Denley, and Abigail and Lillian Pinard.Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Mary, brother Edward, sister Mary, and son Dana William Dilley.Bills funeral service will be Friday, January 6, 2017, 11:00am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15 Pl. NE, Shoreline, WA 98155. A recn will follow the Mass. Memorials may be made in Bills name to Catholic Childrens Services in Seattle.
