William "Bill" Durrett Jr.
June 21st, 1927 - September 9th, 2016
Frankfort, KY William Bill Durrett, Jr., 89, husband of Jewell Durrett, died Friday, September 9, 2016. He was born in Shelby County, KY to the late William and Stella Hall Durrett, Sr. on June 21, 1927. Mr. Durrett retired after 33 years with the State of KY in the Department of Human Resources, and was also a real estate broker for Durrett Real Estate. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a Deacon Emeritus and a member of both the Keystone Sunday School Class and OASIS. Mr. Durrett was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge #4 F&AM for over 65 years and McDonalds Coffee Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, William Bill (Carey) Durrett, III, Frankfort; his sister, Ann Matthews Greco, FL; his grandchildren, Angie (John Brandon) Parker and William Matthew (Mandy) Durrett; and his great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Parker. He is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Cloyd and his brothers, Frank Durrett and Robert Cotton Durrett. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held 10am Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd. with Dr. Robert Browning and Rev. Truett Cocanougher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as Casketbearers will be John Semones, David Carter, Allan Ogden, Virgil Tillett, John Brandon Parker and Lance Gorman. Honorary Casketbearers will be the Keystone Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 5-8pm with a Masonic Service starting at 7:30pm the lodge will open at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
