OBITUARY – William “Billy” Frederick Eckert - A Celebration of Life service for William “Billy” Eckert, 54, of Gaston, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at his residence, 140 Rountree Drive, Gaston, SC 29053. Reverend Ozzie Herlong will officiate the service. Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the Eckert family. Billy Eckert passed away February 15, 2024. Born in Frankfort, Germany, he was the son of Monica Ruis Hughes and the late Tom Eckert. Billy was a loving son, father and brother who enjoyed collecting and re-selling “treasures”. He was a truly giving person, who would help anyone in need. He loved rock and roll, fast cars, beautiful women and traveling to new places and meeting new people. Billy was also known for his sense of humor; he enjoyed making people laugh. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, and we know that one day, we will all be reunited in Heaven. Billy is survived by his mother of Gaston; his wife, Anna Marie Ponce Eckert of Singapore; children, Thomas Eckert, William Eckert, Jr., Katie Eckert; brother, Steven W. Hughes, Jr. of Gaston; niece, Stephanie Hughes. Billy is also survived by his former wives, Kristi “#1” Sedlock of Lexington, Christy “#2” Wright. In addition to his father, Billy was also predeceased by his stepfather, Steven W. Hughes, Sr.; sister, Cynthia “Cindy” Eckert. The family would like to thank the ICU staff of Lexington Medical Center for their thoughtful and kind care of Billy.
