William Farr

William W. Farr, age 65, passed away with his family and friends present on October 20, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents Walton and Rosa (Havens) Farr, his sisters Diana Corey, Kathy Petrie and Lynne Huerta. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Julie, of Arvada, CO and his stepsons Carson (Renee) Rieder of Maryville, MO and Brandon (Kari) Rider with children Addison and Branson of Denver, CO and Dansville, NY, and his brother Thomas Farr of Big Flats, NY. He is also survived by 13 nieces and nephews, 20 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. Bill served with the USAF working in the motorpool during the Viet Nam War era. He was a member of the Big Flats American Legion Post 1612 in Big Flats, NY, his home town. Bill worked as an electrician for several years then as a private contractor for more than 20 years. He was retired early due to an inoperable injury to his back, suffering quietly for a long time. He and Julie were surrounded by many close friends, including “The Boys”. All of their circle of friends were very supportive of Bill in his declining years and his family will be forever grateful to them. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post 1612 in Big Flats, NY, in his memory.
