William "Billy" Fertal

William "Billy" Fertal, 43, of Eagle Street, Amsterdam died suddenly on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Amsterdam he was the son of the late William Fertal Sr. and Iva McNamara. Billy was a lifelong area resident and was a 1991 graduate of Broadalbin- Perth High School. Currently he was employed for Walmart Distribution Center in Johnstown. Billy will be remembered for his love of life and the lifelong friendships he forged with many people. He enjoyed wrestling and was a member of several wrestling associations including the Hall of Fame in located downtown Amsterdam. He was also an avid Braves and Dolphins fan. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his mother, Iva McNamara and her husband Leo; two brothers, Christopher and Nathan Fertal; Billy was very close to his sister Tina McNamara and her sons, Logan Newkirk and Christian Gleason; his uncle and aunt, Victor and Diana Passino and his cousins Holly Jennings, Audrey Tesiero, Sherri Cevera, and John Zajaceskowski; as well as many extended family members and friends. A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place privately for family and close friends in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 4 until 7p.m. at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
