William Lee ("Bill") Flowers, longtime Gilbert resident, was born in Suphur Springs, Texas on September 5, 1939. Bill passed away at the age of 82 on March 12, 2022. He leaves behind his wife, Cindy, two sons, Denny and Buddy, brother, Lynn, the daughter and two sons of Cindy, 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren plus hundreds of friends. Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Laurie and his brother, Jerry. As a proud Texan, Bill's number one was his wife, Cindy. But he had other passions like hunting, fishing, singing, sports, cooking and all people! Bill's incredible sense of humor and his love of life were among his top qualities. A strong Christian, every morning Bill would write a new gratitude list. He was most thankful for his life, his Lord Jesus Christ, his Cindy and their huge family and wonderful friends. After joining Cindy in the real estate business in 1994 Bill quickly became a trusted Realtor and friend to many of their business clients. Prior to his real estate career, Bill had his own paint and decorating business in Dallas, Texas, where he spent the first 36 years of his life. He serviced many homebuilders and provided interior design materials and his expertise. When Bill arrived in Arizona in 1976, he resumed an earlier career in the cotton business and had his own warehouse and cotton gin machinery and supply business in Chandler for many years. Bill was a founding member, Deacon and Elder in Gilbert Presbyterian Church. He also was the Jr. & Sr. High Youth Group Leader for several years. Cindy"s three children were all members of his youth group. Bill was known to take kids who didn"t have a parent on weekend fishing trips long after his own children were raised. He and Cindy served together on church committees and sang in the choir together prior to their marriage in 1990. Soon their relationship became a match made in heaven. Cindy always says her "Billy" is the love of her life. They recently celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 28, 2022 at the Val Vista Lakes Clubhouse, 1600 E. Lakeshore Dr. in Gilbert at 5:30 pm. The actual service will begin at 6:30 pm by the lake where Bill loved to fish. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to StarbrightFoundation.org.
