William "Bill" Spencer Gill
July 17th, 1943 - January 29th, 2023
William "Bill" Spencer Gill, 79, husband of the late Martha Gay Gill, passed away on January 29, 2023 in Lexington. Bill was born in Bloomington, Indiana on July 17, 1943 to the late Charles William Gill and Ella Whalen Gill. He was employed with IBM for 30 years, serving many different positions. Bill attended Southland Christian Church and was a 1961 graduate of Lafayette High School. Bill was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him, including his dog Lily, who was his constant companion these last few years. Bill is survived by his two daughters, Merritt Gill Moore of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Julia Gill (Kelly) Wallin of Lexington; one brother, Larry T. Gill of Texas; and five grandchildren, Joseph H. Moore III, Meagan Moore, Madelyn Moore, Connor Wallin, and Avery Wallin. In addition to his parents and wife, Martha, Bill was preceeded in death by his sister, Mary Anne Gill; and brother, Jack R. Gill. Visitation for Mr. William Gill will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 5-7pm at Clark Legacy Center-Brannon Crossing. A private burial with family will take place at the Lexington Cemetery.
